<p>The history of&nbsp;<strong>Chateau du Tertre</strong>&nbsp;dates back almost one thousand years to the 12th century when it was part of the Seigneurie d'Arsac. The vineyards of this ancient chateau stretch over 52 hectares of gravel that have remained intact since it was classified as a Fifth Growth in 1855. One of the most elevated vineyards in&nbsp;<strong><a title="margaux" href="https://www.millesima.co.uk/margaux.html">Margaux</a></strong>, the&nbsp;<strong>Chateau Tertre's</strong>&nbsp;terroir has helped it gain a worldwide reputation and the chateau's wines reflect the soul of this unique terroir. Dutch businessman Eric Albada Jelgersma has owned the Chateau since 1997.</p> <h2><strong>The elegance and sophistication of a 5th Classified Growth from Margaux</strong></h2> <p><strong>The estate</strong></p> <p><a href="https://www.millesima.co.uk/producer-chateau-du-tertre.html"><strong>Ch&acirc;teau du Tertre</strong></a>&nbsp;is a&nbsp;<a href="https://www.millesima.co.uk/margaux.html"><strong>Margaux</strong></a>&nbsp;Grand Cru located on the left bank of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.millesima.co.uk/bordeaux.html"><strong>Bordeaux</strong></a>. Since its acquisition in late 1997 by Eric Albada Jelgersma, considerable investments have been made in order to bring out the best of this exceptional terroir with wines of very rare consistency. Since January 2021, Ch&acirc;teau du Tertre has been run by the Helfrich family, who manages the trading company Les Grands Chais de France.</p> <p><strong>The vineyard</strong></p> <p>Ch&acirc;teau du Terte reigns over a beautiful 45-hectare vineyard located in the Margaux appellation, of which 41 are used for production. The sandy-clay gravel soils of this exceptional terroir prevent excessive water stress during hot and dry months by ensuring a constant availability of water.</p> <p><strong>The winemaking and ageing</strong></p> <p>Manual and optical sorting. Wood, concrete and stainless steel tanks. Maceration for 21 days at 24&deg;C. Ageing lasts for 12 months in French oak barrels (of which 40% are new wood).</p> <p><strong>Blend</strong></p> <p>The 2021 Ch&acirc;teau du Tertre is made of a blend of <a href="https://www.millesima.co.uk/cabernet-sauvignon.html"><strong><u>Cabernet Sauvignon</u></strong></a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.millesima.co.uk/merlot.html"><strong><u>Merlot</u></strong></a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.millesima.co.uk/cabernet-franc.html"><strong><u>Cabernet Franc</u></strong></a>,&nbsp;<strong>Petit Verdot</strong>.</p> <ul class="ProductDetailModal_list__E7kt8"> <li class="ProductDetailModal_line__cCVqa"> <p class="ProductDetailModal_name__Yg_HH">J.
